“Hi, you there, over here!” *waves*… hello and thanks for stopping by. I’m Lucy, that’s me down there pulling silly faces, and the handsome dude in the sunglasses is my Mister.

silly me and handsome him...
(personal photos-made-polaroid by the magical powers of poladroid!)

So, um, I guess y’all are wondering who on earth writes about Pine Trees and Polka dots – any why! (And probably also wondering why an English girl gets to use the term ‘y’all’ in a public place).

Well, he’s a tall Texan city-boy, now transplanted to sunny Suffolk in England. I’m a small town girl (compared to him anyway) born and raised in the UK. Together we’re about the embark on the biggest adventure of our lives – Marriage! The date is set for the end of April 2011 and I’d love for you to keep reading and share in our planning and the build up to the big day. So stay tuned for DIY centrepieces, loads of papery goodness, probably some adventures in baking, and lots more besides.

In the meantime, here’s the ‘cliff notes version’ of how boy-met-girl:

  • A tall Texan boy met a short(ish) English girl (on Match.com, while he was stationed in the UK with the USAF)
  • Her cooking skills were so awesome that he decided to stay in the UK and ask her to cook for him forever more
  • {she said YES!}
  • She posted some stuff about her hometown, for the sake of those too far away to have seen it themselves (yet)
  • They set a date [30/04/2011]
  • She had a vision and set about crafting the heck outta every possible aspect of it!

All caught up? Great! And just for kicks, here’s a picture of us shortly after we got engaged in December 2009:

About Me: I'm a born and bred Suffolk girl who loves glitter, inventing new words, going to the movies with my soon-to-be-hubby and am completely addicted to the Internet. I am highly skilled at making a mess, not so much at tidying up! I'm a detailed-obsessed craftaholic and can never seem to find enough hours in the day. In 2007 my Internet-addiction finally paid off in the form of my meeting the Mister; who accepts my inappropriate amount of crazy, and we've settled down together to plan our Spring wedding and take care of our two crazy kitties.
